Requirements & Details:

• Participants must hold CURRENT Australian Multi-Combination drivers licence
• Participants must be a minimum of 17 years of age to sit the assessment, and be proficient in English
• Photo ID, and wear appropriate clothing and closed in shoes
• A short literacy and numeracy test will be required
• Assessment type: Theory and Practical
• Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment and a plastic industry wallet card issued by QTLT RTO #40931

Course Outline:

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate a multi-combination vehicle in the resources and infrastructure industries. It applies to those working in supervisory and technical specialist roles. They generally work under minimal supervision to undertake a broad range of skilled applications in varied work contexts, using some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures. 

• Prepare for multi-combination vehicle operations
• Couple and uncouple trailers
• Conduct vehicle checks
• Supervise loading and unloading of goods and materials
• Steer, manoeuvre and position vehicle
• Manage engine power
• Monitor and anticipate traffic and road conditions
• Monitor vehicle efficiency
• Park and secure the vehicle
• Carry out post-operational activities
