Nationally Recognised Course

Course Details:

Duration: 5 days face- to- face (4 days theory and practical training + 1 day assessment)

Times: 7:00am – 3:00pm

Pre-requisite: Participants must be 18 years of age to sit the WHS Qld assessment and be proficient in English

Course Fee: $1295

This nationally recognised training course gives participants the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and efficiently operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 20 tonnes) for licensing purposes.

On completion participants will be able to competently understand and perform:

  • Legislations and standards applicable to operate a slewing mobile crane
  • Risk management, control procedures and planning work
  • Conduct routine checks and set up of crane
  • Transfer of loads and mobile loads
  • Shut down and secure crane 

Note: This licence will also cover the licence requirements for the following:

  • CN - Non-Slewing Mobile Crane (Franna)
  • CV - Vehicle Loading Crane (Truck Hiab - 1ton @ 10mt)
  • RS - Reach Stacker (Container Crane)
  • Telehandler + 3 ton

Apply for Training Funding

Bert Funding - If you are a member of BERT and meet the BERT Training Fund (BTF) eligibility criteria, you can apply for a training subsidy.  Please note no funds are deducted from your BERT account to cover the cost of your training.  Your BERT account is only used as a reference to determine the amount of funding we will authorise. You can apply online by visiting and selecting ‘Apply Here’ for Training Grants.  Submit your application and if successful, you will receive written confirmation of your grant and the amount to be funded.

What to bring

  • Photo ID required and, wear suitable clothing (PP&E if available) and closed in shoe
  • Successful applicants will receive a Statement of Attainment and AS1 form
  • Apply for a 5-year High Risk Work Licence through Work Place Health and Safety QLD at an additional fee
